Muskeg Meadows had a full weekend of successful fundraising events, beginning with the Annual Stikine Sportsman Association Golf Tournament the evening of Friday, June 5. With a stroke of luck, the tournament landed on a clear day and it was a perfect evening for golf. The Stikine Sportsman contributed money towards cash prizes and $730 was donated back to Muskeg Meadows by participants and winning teams.
Saturday, June 6, kicked off the first day of the annual Greg Scheff Memorial Tournament, sponsored by R&M Ketchikan. The tournament begin with a few words to remember and honor Greg, a good friend of many in attendance. Spirits were high, despite the rain and the record number of lost balls. Once again, the winning teams generously donated their prize money to a worthwhile cause, this time it was the Greg Scheff Memorial Scholarship Fund. The tournament raised an impressive $3,110 for the scholarship fund. Each year a student from Wrangell High School is chosen by committee to receive the scholarship. The 2020 award was given to Hank Volts to help with his career path towards nursing school in the fall.
